This photo shows the North Korean fighter jet that crashed Tuesday in Liaoning Province, China. A resident took photos of the plane and uploaded them on a Chinese Web site on military information. A red star in a blue circle representing North Korea is clearly visible on the rear section of the fuselage. The plane is believed to be a MiG-21, the flagship aircraft of the Norths air force. The cause of the crash was not known as of Wednesday, but given that the fuselage remained fairly intact, an attack as a cause is unlikely.
