Marathoners on Jeju

Winter on Jeju Island heats up with a marathon. Members of the Korean national marathon team and those from Konkuk University, Daegu Bank, SH Corp. and Gangneung City Hall run on the sand at Jeju’s Iho Beach Thursday. Hwang Young-cho (center in orange clothes), the 1992 Barcelona Olympics gold medalist in the marathon and chairman of the Korean Association of Athletics Federations’ Marathon Development Committee, joined the runners. The athletes will compete in the 2011 Dong-A Seoul International Marathon on March 20 and the lAAF World Championships in Athletics in Daegu in August.
