Apology over Shanghai scandal

Foreign Affairs and Trade Minister Kim Sung-hwan makes an apology Wednesday over the leak of state secrets by Korean consular officers in Shanghai at the National Assembly`s foreign affairs and trade committee, saying, “I feel very ashamed.” Members of the ruling and opposition parties demanded an urgent government response, calling the incident a “humiliating scandal for Korean diplomacy.”
