Oil freighter mishap

The Doola 3, a 4,191-ton oil freighter, exploded in waters six kilometers northwest of Jawol Island, Ongjin County, off Incheon at 8:05 a.m. Sunday. The accident, which is believed to have occurred due to a gas explosion (vaporized oil) in a tank on the vessel, killed five crew members and left six others missing. The photo shows the vessel split into two as if it had been bombed.
