Chinese military daily touts Beijing`s missile capabilities

“We can move everywhere and launch a nuclear missile with speed and accuracy.”

The Chinese People’s Liberation Army Daily on Monday said the 2nd Artillery Corps, also known as China’s strategic nuclear force, have stepped up their capabilities. The unusual comment on its missile arsenal reflects China’s intent to send a warning to the U.S. and Japan.

The headline on the newspaper`s front page said all of the corps` missiles can be loaded onto a vehicle and launched, and a system can move on roads across China and launch and control a missile anytime. This means the missiles can avoid location tracking by enemy states that use reconnaissance satellites.

The daily also said China has made missiles as well as nuclear missiles slimmer and lighter by using solid fuel.
