The birth of the first baby boy between Prince William and his wife Kate could advance the succession of the throne from Queen Elizabeth II, observers say.
The newborn royal child is the direct descendant of Queen Elizabeth II and third in line to the throne. Prince Harry is now fourth to the throne.
The British political community cautiously predicts early abdication as Prince Charles is 65 years old and the Queen is 87 years old and Prince Charles began to take on key royal affairs from this year.
In May this year, YouGov, a U.K.-based market research firm, conducted a survey of 1,945 adults with the question: Should the Queen abdicate the throne? Fifty-three percent of respondents said the Queen should continue to reign, while only 33 percent agreed on abdication.
With the birth of a baby boy, Britain is expected to be a state reigned by three kings to follow the Queen if the Queen steps down from the throne.
