Korean media react too sensitively over a trivial matter

TV sometimes fails to show real atmosphere in the field. When LA Dodgers players Ryu Hyun-jin and Juan Uribe had an uneasy moment after carrying a practical joke in the dugout Tuesday, Korean media were heated over the incident.

American media such as Los Angeles Times and mlb.com, however, did not mention about the happening. Even the TV caster did not mention about the scene. If the two players had actually fought each other, the incident must have been dealt at ESPN news as well as addressed by the team coach at news conference. No American reporters mentioned about the scene at the post-game news conference.

This time, Ryu Hyun-jin countered sensitively to domestic news reports on the Internet. Ryu, who do not meet reporters on the day when he is the starting pitcher, asked Uribe in front of Korean reporters to explain for him saying that he was reported as a bad guy. To this request, Uribe said, shrugging the question off, “Nothing happened. We were just being silly as usual.”
