Audience members at a fashion show beat time with their feet and danced to the tune of K-pop music.

The "Concept Korea Season 10" fashion show held at the Lincoln Center Pavilion in New York’s Manhattan featured music performed by Korean idol group Block B and rapper Drunken Tiger.

The fashion event has been organized to support Korean fashion designers’ advance into the U.S. The event takes place twice yearly in February and September and is hosted by the Culture, Sports and Tourism Ministry and the Korea Creative Content Agency.

The fashion show showcased more than 20 presentations by designers Lee Ju-young, Lee Seung-hee and Ko Tae-yong, who were picked as Korean representatives after passing fierce competition with a competitive ratio of over 10 to one. Veteran designer Lee Sang-bong, who viewed the fashion show presented by his younger colleagues, said, “Concept Korea has become the best gateway for Korean designers to make inroads into the global fashion market.”

The organizers said, “When selecting designers for Concept Korea, we have invited more world-famous fashion leaders to serve as judges this time than ever before.” It said this panel of judges will serve as mentors of up-and-coming designers in a natural fashion. The panelists included Fern Mallis, the founder of New York Fashion Week; Philip Bloch, a famed fashion stylist; Simon Collins, dean of Parsons Fashion School; Nicole Fischelis, vice president of Macy’s; Avril Graham, editorial director for fashion and beauty at the fashion magazine "Harper’s Bazaar."
