Lionel Messi of FC Barcelona continued his scoring streak after breaking the all-time Champions League goalscoring late last month. In Wednesdays 2014-15 UEFA Champions League Group F encounter on the home turf with Paris Saint-Germain, he scored an equalizer in the 19th minute, when his team was losing 0-1. It was his 75th career goal. Messi is now three goals ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo in the top goalscoring competition.
Barcelona won the game 3-1, leading the group with five wins and one loss with 15 points to advance to the round of 16. Paris Saint-Germain also finished second in Group F, making it to the next round with four wins, one tied game and one loss with 13 points.
The group stages of the UEFA Champions League are over, with the last 16 teams concluded. Four of them were from Germanys Bundesliga -- Bayern Munich, Schalke 04, Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen.
