Hanjin Heavy Industries Subic Shipyard in the Philippines received an order for three 20,600-TEU containers. It is the second company following Samsung Heavy Industries to win order for a container ship over 20,000 TEU. This sends a signal that the order for ultra-large container ships is increasing in earnest.
The shipbuilding firm said Monday, Hanjin Heavy Industries Subic Shipyard won an order to build three 20,600-TEU container ships from The world`s third largest shipping company CMA CGM. The ship is 400 meters long, 59 meters wide and 33 meters deep.
