Lotte Group Chairman Shin Dong-bin, who is serving as the chairman of the Korea Ski Association, met with Luke Bodensteiner, vice president at the United States Ski and Snowboard Association, at Lotte Group’s headquarters in central Seoul on Wednesday, and signed a memorandum of understanding to promote development of ski sport of the two countries.

Under the MOU, the associations of the two nations are set to collaborate in joint training of national ski athletes in alpine skiing, exchange of teenage athletic skiers, and technical cooperation. Widely known as a ski maniac, Shin said, “The association will give compensations to Korean skiers who rank fourth to sixth and those who regrettably miss medals at the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang,” as he steps up efforts to accelerate the development of Korean ski sport.
