FC Seoul had a landslide win over Sanfrecce Hiroshima FC, the champion of the 2015 Japanese pro soccer league, in a "March 1 Independence Movement Day duel." At the second match of the group league for Group F of the Asian Champions League at Seoul World Cup Stadium on Tuesday, Seoul FC beat the Japanese team, by banking on stellar performance by Carlos Adriano who scored three goals.

FC Seoul, which defeated Thailand’s Burinam United FC 6-0 last month, has remained atop by garnering two consecutive wins. Achieving a hat trick on the day, Adriano has registered his second career hat tricks. He had the first hat trick and scored four goals in the game against Burinam United, emerging as a leading candidate for the ongoing championship’s top scorer.

After losing the first match to China’s Shandong Luneng Taishan FC 1-2, Hiroshima strongly pressured Seoul from the beginning of the match on the day, while securing the first goal in the 25th minute in the first half. Seoul FC, however, managed to tie the match seven minutes later as Kim Won-shik scored the first goal in the 32nd minute and regained dominance in the game.

As Adriano continued to widen the score gap by scoring a goal in the fourth minute of the second half, things became much more lopsided. Shin Jin-ho, who moved from Pohang Steelers to FC Seoul ahead of this season’s opening, had two assists and led the Korean team to victory in collaboration with Adriano.
