Park Yu-chun fans promise unwavering support for him

Park Yu-chun, actor and singer of popular K-pop boy band JYJ, who is being investigated over sexual assault allegations, has been still supported by his fans who issued a statement saying they will show "unwavering support" for him, which is incurring mixed responses.

DC Inside Park Yu-chun Gallery, an online fan club, posted a message Monday titled "Statement by Domestic and Foreign Fans of Park Yu-chun." In the statement, they said they express unwavering support for Park Yu-chun. The message was posted in four different languages including Korean, English, Chinese and Japanese, and garnered more than 1,800 comments, all also in different languages.

Park is under investigation after four women filed complaints claiming they were sexually assaulted by him. The woman who had first sued Park dropped the suit on June 14, and Park brought a counter action against her and two of her acquaintances for false accusation and blackmailing on June 20.

People showed mixed responses to the fans' statement. Some criticized that defending a potential sex offender is not a stance that a true fan can take, while others said, "I agree with that we should refrain from treating him as a criminal since investigation is ongoing."
