A beginner’s guidebook that gives knowledge and advice on foreign investment in laymen’s language has been published at a time when doomsday outlooks on the global economy including uncertainty and slow growth are dominating the market.
Author Lee Jong-hwan, CEO of Nongshim Capital Co., Ltd., who has worked in domestic and overseas financial institutions for more than 30 years, is giving easy-to-understand information on situations and outlooks of seven major economies including Brazil, Russia, India, China, Turkey, European countries and the U.S.
Lee claims that a country’s economic situation should be examined comprehensively because it is linked with the country’s politics, history and culture. Thus, he gives analysis on history, geology and political leaders of those countries as well as current account balance, price levels and exchange rates.
Since many variables affect the financial market, however, investors should not try to find answers in a book. This book may serve as a useful guidance that will enable investors at least not to be influenced and dominated by fast-evolving trends by giving basic knowledge about situations facing different countries.
