Autumn concerts in Seoul

As the crisp autumn air settles in, a series of classical and musical concerts are set to enchant audiences throughout September, offering a perfect way to enjoy the season.

At 6 p.m. from Sept. 6 to 8, the “Credia Park Concert” returns to the 88th Lawn Field of Olympic Park in Songpa-gu, Seoul, for the first time in five years. The concert series kicks off with a collaborative performance by pianist Yuki Kuramoto and violinist Danny Koo, setting the tone for an evening of refined music. The following day, “Disney in Concert” offers a family-friendly program featuring musical theatre actress Jung Sun-ah and New York Broadway singers performing beloved Disney songs, all backed by a grand 80-piece orchestra. The series concludes with pianist Son Yeol-eum delivering classical masterpieces, including George Gershwin’s iconic Rhapsody in Blue. Tickets range from 50,000 to 100,000 won.

Later in the month, the Seoul Performing Arts Company will host its Autumn Concert at 6 p.m. Gwanghwamun Square in Jongno-gu, Seoul, on the afternoons of September 20 and 22. This event promises a captivating blend of genres. at 7:30 p.m. September 20., the Seoul City Choir will present a diverse repertoire, including selections from The Sound of Music, the folk song “Gyeongbokgung Taeryeong,” and the crossover favorite “Nella Fantasia.” Then, on September 22 ., the Seoul Musical Theatre Company will take the stage to perform numbers from well-known musicals such as The Phantom of the Opera and Mamma Mia!, along with selections from Korean original musicals like Seopyeonjae. Admission to these performances is free, but those interested in reserving a seat can apply starting Wednesday.
